Say hello to Sirus! This gentle sweetheart arrived from Romford Retired Greyhounds in the UK in July, and is quickly adapting to his foster home. When racing, he went by the name “Insane Virus” (hence the caption in his photo). Sirus retired from racing in February of 2024, having 47 races under his belt. At six years old, Sirus is now ready to find his forever home!
Luckily for Sirus, he had no injuries during his career, and instead retired one month before his fifth birthday. (For those wondering, March 19 is his birthday, so if you adopt now, you’ll have plenty of time to plan for next year’s festivities!) He would do best with older children or adults, since he weighs just over 80 pounds. He can also be a bit nervous at times, especially when in new situations. At Romford, he was kenneled with both male and female dogs, and got along well with everyone.
Volunteers at Romford felt Sirus would likely get along well with quieter small dogs, too. However, he has not been officially small-dog or cat tested. (We will update once he has been!) He will make a wonderful companion for his family.
