Caruso is a galgo from Spain. He just recently made his big adventure over to the United States in May. Caruso lives with other greyhounds as well as a toy poodle and chihuahua mix. He kennels quietly and walks well on leash. Caruso’s quiet behavior in his kennel coupled with his leash walking manners would make him an ideal candidate for apartment living. He also does well with stairs. He enjoys playing with toys and tends to depend more on the people in his foster home rather than the other dogs. Caruso’s foster family describes him as outgoing, curious, and confident. He also loves hugs and kisses! Caruso endured a fractured leg as well as surgery in Spain. He often avoids walking on that leg and is in the process of further evaluation with our veterinarians. Galgos require a commitment to leash walk or a 6ft + fence in their adoptive home. Galgos are known for their jumping and climbing abilities and it is possible that even a 6ft fence may not be secure for them. Each galgo is different in that respect and requires individual evaluation. If you’d like to learn more about adding Caruso to your family, contact our adoption coordinators.
