Boris is a four-year old greyhound who will turn five on October 20! He gets along well with his galgo foster brother and walks well on a leash with no pulling. He is fairly laid back, but is a happy boy who loves to receive attention. He came to American Greyhound from Romford kennels in the UK, after retiring from his racing career due to a gracilis strain. He is a little over 70 pounds and his muscle injury has fully healed!
Boris crates well, and could do well as an only dog, or in a family setting. He is housetrained, sleeps through the night in his crate, and goes to bed when told to. Boris is generally quiet and mild-mannered. His racing name was “No Consideration”, but in truth he is quite a considerate gentleman! Foster Mom describes him as a sweet boy who deserves lots of love and affection. He can also be left alone for a full workday without incident in his crate.
This handsome boy is not especially cuddly, and prefers to lay in his own space, but will sit in the bed on occasion. Boris likes treats, but is wary when he doesn’t recognize the food. After watching his foster brother happily accept and eat the snack, Boris then feel comfortable enough to partake. He is still learning and adjusting to life as a house pet!
His foster family tells us that Boris makes them laugh when he sniffs things because his teeth make a cute chattering noise, “like a chipmunk”! That sounds adorable! They add, “Boris has a wonderful heart and would make an excellent addition to someone’s family.”
