Leo is a galgo from Spain. He just recently made his big adventure over to the United States in May. Leo is currently living with cats, a small dog, and other large breed dogs. He is doing well with everyone! He does seem to think it’s a game to chase the cats if they run. This is something Leo’s foster family is working on with him. Leo kennels well and walks well on leash to “do his business”. Leo has no trouble with stairs and even plays with stuffed toys when the mood strikes him. Leo prefers the company of his foster people over the other dogs in his foster home and we believe he would do well as the only dog in his home. Leo is an outgoing and curious boy that is ready to learn about the world! Galgos require a commitment to leash walk or a 6ft + fence in their adoptive home. Galgos are known for their jumping and climbing abilities and it is possible that even a 6ft fence may not be secure for them. Each galgo is different in that respect and requires individual evaluation. If you’d like to learn more about adding Leo to your family, contact our adoption coordinators.
