Please note: American Greyhound is based in Northwest Indiana. We adopt primarily to the Midwest, including: Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Iowa, Kentucky, Tennessee and Wisconsin. We very occasionally adopt to other surrounding states on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to refuse or deny any application, or to rescind approval prior to an adoption.

Adoption fees are dog-specific and can be found on each dog’s profile page on the American Greyhound website. Adoption fees are non-refundable.

All dogs are spayed/neutered and microchipped; up-to-date on vaccinations; and have been recently screened for heartworm and other parasites.

We make every effort to be transparent about any prior or current medical conditions, injuries, or illnesses that we are aware of, and will provide a copy of available vet records at time of adoption. We cannot make any guarantee regarding a dog’s health, including regarding the accuracy or completion of vet records prior to the dog’s time under the care of American Greyhound.

We recommend that adopters make an appointment shortly after adoption, at their own expense, to establish care locally and to have a veterinarian conduct a full examination.
