Mac is doing very well with his training. Since he loves to eat, he is very willing to listen to the commands he
was taught because he knows a treat is waiting for him at the end. His trainer in prison describes him as very
friendly and outgoing dog. He also started figuring out what toys are for and loves to play with his ball. He is
the laid back kinda guy, enjoying his retirement.
Age: 2 1;2 years
American Greyhound has partnered with "2nd Chance at Life", a prison foster program for retired racing greyhounds. 2nd
Chance at Life (SCAL) places retired racers, directly off the track, into their prison foster program for obedience training and
socialization. They receive ten weeks of training from two inmate caretakers and leave as good canine citizens.
SCAL greys require a $300 adoption fee to support the program.
