Special Needs
I am Hammer and I am glad I am not any longer in a Jam(mer).
I am brindle with white feet which makes me look super sweet.
I am big and tall and sometimes I just can't help but bump into things or fall.
Despite my clumsy nature I am still a happy, friendly creature.
In the past while I was at my leisure it just happened. I had a seizure.
The doctor gave me medication and with lots of love and dedication
I will once again be me, just like I used to be.
My foster family loves me dearly, I can see it clearly.
They say I am the apple of their eye, which I won't deny.
I will take all the love I can get and at the same time try to give lots of it back.
I like to play and sleep and hopefully I will be yours forever to keep.

Collin is a 4yr old brindle male, fresh out of the 2nd Chance at Life program. His foster family is still
working with him on his commands (sit, stay, down) so he won't forget once he goes into his forever
home. He walks good on a leash, is potty and crate trained. Collin lives currently with two more
greyhounds, a small boston and children. Altough he is shy at first, he warms up quickly once you give
him love and attention. His foster family says he is very sweet. Collin is looking for his forever home and
would love the opportunity to show you just how great he is!

American Greyhound has partnered with "2nd Chance at Life", a prison foster program for retired racing greyhounds. 2nd
Chance at Life (SCAL) places retired racers, directly off the track, into their prison foster program for obedience training
and socialization. They receive ten weeks of training from two inmate caretakers and leave as good canine citizens.
SCAL greys require a $300 adoption fee to support the program.

When a hound has been designated as "likely cat/small animal tolerant" it means simply that they have passed a cat

When you hear a dog groan, it's Hero getting his ears cleaned. He loves it. Hero wants to be by his
handlers side at all times. They describe him as a dog with "boundless" love. Hero wakes up every
morning with a "smile" and wiggle. He knows all of his commands, and performs them very well. Hero
especially loves squeaky toys, and gets excited as soon as he hears it. Hero is very gentle, loves
everyone and will take any and all attention he can gather.

Hector is a playful guy who loves to be with his family. This handsome boy tackles new situations like
stairs & slippery floors head on & masters new things without a problem. Hector is being fostered in a
home with a 2 year old boy. Hector loves to romp with the other greys but is more of a follower than a
leader. He goes along with whatever the other dogs want to do ie, go out & play, lay inside on dog
beds, munch on cow hooves, whatever the others do, Hector follows along. He is a really awesome
stop out at the events & see this guy for yourself.
